Happy Halloween

Traditionally, I'd stay at home. Watch my lolas and lolos pray for those who have passed away, while my parents, aunts and uncles prepare a good food. These food will then be "offered" for the dead. My Lolo and Lola usually "talk" and "entertain" them while we - kids - wait for the spirits to finish up the special meal offered to them.

It's amaizing how time changed the way we celebrate Holloween or the All Saints Day.
Nowadays, my parents would travel 13hrs to visit the province, clean the graves , pray for their souls and find time to talk to all the dead or living relatives in the province.

I used to gather my cousins around to pray long novenas. But I guess, things really changed. Instead, we sit in front of the television to watch horror flicks, newly released movies or stroll in the mall rather than travel 13hrs with them.

There isn't much difference this year.
But for once, I'll like to celebrate the life they have lived.
I might not know them all. But surely I have bits and pieces of memories to recall.
Good Memories. Bad Memories. Happy memories. And Memories that have touch my life.

I'm not good in "talking" to spirts.
Not I have intentions of entertaning them for a night.
I just want them to know.
That they are remembered... by someone here..
... and is forever cherished.
