A Fair To Remember

So this is my version of the Story...hehehe

Tradisyon na sa akin ang pumunta sa UP Fair ever since I started UP back in 2000. ( Yep, Student Number ko ay 00-49###. So what?! Hehehe..)

Hindi naman ako ganun ka addict sa fair, I've had the best memories and most wonderful experineces sa fair! Sobrang naaliw ako nung first time kong pumunta when Jhong, Kycs and I went there wearing only our Kalayaan Dorm Clothes... Hahaha..A very naive wide eyed Freshman walking around the fields of Sunken garden from Kalayaan! Libre pa ang entrance that day. Daming freebees! Sobrang Aliw ako sa nga booths. Sa mga rides. Sa games. Parang Perya sa probinsya pero may banda!! Hahaha... Jologs na kung jologs! Pero sabi ko I'll definitely be back.

Next day, dun ko ata nakuha ang akin 1st dorm violation! When we waited for Parokya ni Edgar to play. Bad trip lang dun, I had to watch the band from outside the wall. Dahil pauwi na kami sa dorm nung sumampa sila sa stage!!! Kung di ko lang mahal si Chito!!!

Since then kasama ko na ang aking mga dormates/roomates/blockmates. Kung ano anong kakulitan namin, plus Feb15 ang birthday ni Manong Aidz. Henna. Tsubibo. Perya. "Punch" Drinks. At kahit madaming Jumping jologs, hindi ko ako pumapalya sa pagsabay sa crowd habang kumakanta ng mga astig na kanta.. (hehehe.. one of the advantage of having taller guy friends, may backer ka pag nagkatulakan.. )

Two years after I left UP,nung medyo naging "mahinahon" na ako. Naisip namin yayain ang mga kapwa kaklase sa gitara...sinama naman namin ang mga Non-UP officemates ko. hehehe... Sabi ko they have to see kung anong "gulo" meron dun.


8:00pm Arrival Time
Dahil andun si Banana sa door, diretcho ang drama ng lola papasok. Walang Effort. Plus, di pa ganun kadami ang tao.

Sa labas pa lang, nakita ko na si tatay esti(taba! taba! taba!), si daf daf (stifflerrrrr) at ang aking EEE9 buddies ( Suzie and Marian )

The Food
Madaming kaininan sa loob. Ranginging from pika pika to heavy rice meals. Although temping ang baba shawarma, we end up eating sa isang food stand na institusyon na sa UP. Ang Rodics, since 194? , ay well known for the Tapsi and all the silog meals at ang aking fave na dinuguan... Sulit naman ata, dahil nagustuhan nila ang TAPA. ( na since 194? pa hehehe.. joke joke )

Hindi natatapos sa dinner ang pagkain... Kulang!
Kailangang malasahan ni lasa ng inihaw na isaw! Ang tanging habol ni BEL sa UP. (try mo ung sa tabi ng ILANG-ILANG!! Yun ang the best!)

The Wall
Nakakatawang isiping para akong isang unggoy na natuwang nakakita ng saging sa taas ng pader nung nakita ko ang wall, sobrang na eXcite ako!!! =p Another challenge!

They were all ready to listen to the bands playing, kaya walang time for me to drag them sa side ng UP Mountainer Wall. Lucky for me, may isang banda dun na nagsimulang murahin lahat ng pwede nyang murahin, at magbabato ng isang Kenny Rogers Meal sa crowd. ( Doy, hindi nya ibabato ang muffin.. ) Napilitan silang samahan ako na mag climb sa wall. Kami lang ni jori ang umakyat. While He finished all 3, I could only endure 2.

Thinking: Jode, pwede bang power up ang sunod na crossteam? hehehe.. magaling palang umakyat tong pakner ko e..


Wala akong bagay na masasabing nag iidentify sa akin, something specific, something finite and complete. Pero pag nag wawall climb ako, I feel in control pero helpless, supported pero on my own. It's like trying to carry yourself, pushing your way up, while trying to focus on the problem. You can rest, but giving up is a big No NO! Basta! It might be just a wall to you, for me, it's more than that!

The Bands


Habang umaakyat ako, nawala na si rage,ann at jode. Tumatakbo papunta sa harap ng stage, matapos marinig na KikoMachine na! Aba! Abah! Akala ko ivivideo ako, ang dugas nandun na!
Madaming Ok na banda ang tumugtog ng maaga. Ilan sa mga tumatak sa isip ko ay ang mga sumusunod:

Blue Ketchup ( ... itext mo ako.. pag hiwalay na kayo.. ---kulit!!)
Kwjan ( Ang gitaristang crush ni ann. Mr. T Look, na mukhang bagong gising )
Hale ( Ang ganda ng moon.. ang cute ni champ!! Jode!!!! )
SugarFree ( Total Performer si Ebe!!! napaindak si ann sa Ann-theme ng gabing ito "tulog na" )
6 cycle Mind ( SIGE, SANDALAN, I at ang the best ALAPAAP... calai and donnie.. fine fine fine cute na kung cute... yael pa din!)
SPONGECOLA ( Ok ok.. sawa na ako sa song nila.. Pero mahal ko na siya e, masama ba un..lalo na at naka green siyang converse shoes!!? -- wag na humirit sa height)
Kitchie Nadal ( Naging rason ng aming pag uwi... )
Barbie Almalbis ( Nasa labas na kami, pauwi na.. )

Roaming Around - kanya kanyang trip
Belmond wanted to look around. So sinamahan ko siya. Naglaro ng piso piso at nanalo ng Oishi.
Si Jori, ang food trip. Mabuti naman at Nagkrus ang landas ninyo ng iyong mga dating kaibigan.
Si Rage at si Jode, naiwan sa gitna ng crowd nung dumating na ang jumping jologs team bago magsimula ang Dicta License. Mabuting magkasama sila para maprotektahan ni jode si rage.. hehehe..
Samantalang, sagilid ang trip namin. Gumawa ng sariling crowd. Malayo pero abot tanaw ko pa ang kumakanta, dito sa mahangin at ligtas na side ng fair. Tabing stage!

Familiar Faces

Malabo ang mga mata ko, dahil pinipilit kong hindi suotin ang salamin ko sa takot na malaglag at matapakan. Ganun pa man, I saw some familiar faces. The girls from Ilang ( Nat, Line, and some names that slip my mind ), Natsci I classmate from Kalayaan,Allan, Diego, Ayze's friends and old crush, and 2 of my blockmates ( Ceej and Ayze ).

Cinderella
12 midnight is our deadline. Hindi pa tumutugtog ang MOJOFLY, pero oras na para umuwi. I would have loved to stay pero 7am pa ako pasok. Plus, babalik pa ako kinabukasan.

14. I'm not alone. People are more aware of their status on this particular day. That's why Valentines day is also known as SAD ( Single Awareness Day )

13. Valentines only means Feb Fair Na!! ( Rock On \\m// )

12. I can watch all my fave bands, Jump with the "jumping Jologs" crowd, climb the wall and have a henna tatoo without asking anyone for approval.

11. I can run around (outside) of UP fair grounds with some of my friends while trying to annoy all the "mushroom" couples hidden in the dark side of the field, near the library area.

10. I don't have to dress up, get psyched up or something about the occassion, but still feel the kilig just by looking at my friends or hearing their romantic love story.

9. I can sit in front of the T.V., wearing my fave pajamas and baggy shirt without combing my hair or brushing my teeth while preparing for my very late lunch at 2 o'clock in the afternoon ^__^

8. I can watch a sappy Juday-Piolo movie on the Dorm T.V. without any complaints or arguement coming from anyone.. (Mainly because people are all out or preparing for their "date")

7. I can go out and be the 3rd, 5th or 7th wheel in the group and not be out of placed. I make sure I get more attention than they do. ^__^ ( They have too!! Or else, I'll ruin their date. wehehe.. Valentines makes me do crazy stuff. )

6. I can sit by the window side of a resto in a two sitter table. Eat, while reading Bob Ong's latest book, listen to the radio and glance at the "romantic" scenes around and be contented. ^__^

5. I always receive different sets of flowers from different person. THEM thinking that "nobody" special would give me flowers. Hmmm.. actually, it's not the flowers.. it's the person. ( But I do love ORANGE Roses)

4. I have more reasons to be hopelessly in love with love and not the person because it's valentine's day. =*

3. I have the freedom to ask whoever I want without any strings or commitment attached, may I be accepted or rejected..I couldn't care less.. ;)

2. I can spend it with my best buds sitting on the intramuros walls and laugh at the couples or group trying hard to be cools while they walk pass us unknowingly.. wehehehe..

1. I love being free. Anybody who can be like that and / or accept my opinion in life can definitely join me in my celebration of SAD.
